Creative Cultures - Opportunties

The European Cultural Fund (ECF) is seeking applications to its Artistic Project Grants programme. Grants are available to both cultural organisations and individual artists but need to include partners from other eligible European countries. The programme supports outstanding artistic projects which show vision in illuminating the issues of diversity in Europe. The usual grant given by the Foundation is between £30,000 and £60,000.

Poster Competition


Would you like free entry for the 2009 North East Open Studios with a high profile venue to showcase your work?
NEOS are looking for designs / artwork for promotional posters for NEOS’09.
The winner will receive free entry into the year round directory (worth £97) and be provided with exhibition space in the "Red Bus Art" - a traveling art gallery during NEOS’09 which will tour Aberdeen City and Shire.
Images can be produced using any medium and should reflect the year of Homecoming Scotland. The design should also incorporate the NEOS’09 branding (working files will be available on entry.)
The closing date for the competition is Friday the 3rd of April 2009

Aesthetica : The Annual Creative Works Competition

Three winners £500 each
With three categories, Artwork, Poetry and Fiction, the Aesthetica Creative Works Competition is looking to discover the best upcoming artists and writers. Winners of each category will each be awarded £500 and all winners and finalists will be published in the Aesthetica Annual, sold through Borders stores nationwide.

Deadline for submissions is 31 August 2009. All winners will be notified by 31 October 2009 and the Aesthetica Annual will be published 1 December 2009.

SAS Announces National Art Competition

Scottsdale Artists' School is announcing a unique call to artists for Spark! Igniting the Power of Art to celebrate environmentally friendly energy resources, a juried representational art competition. Visual artists have the power to create a broad impact on the global appeal to conserve energy, focus on renewable resources, and the urgency of restoring a clean environment.
The School invites artists to submit work based on the theme: Igniting the Power of Art to celebrate environmentally friendly energy resources.The competition is open to all artists, ages 18 and older. Entries must be received no later than March 20, 2009 and a $5,000 cash prize will be awarded to the winner.
The fee for the first entry is $35 and each additional entry is $25. The School will present the award at the Gala event, April 18, 2009, where the work will be on display. Artists must submit entries through the Website, www.callforentry.org.
Artists should go to the site and search for the call by the school name, Scottsdale Artists' School.
All images and information will be collected on the Website and juried by the school. The juried art competition kicks off events for the School’s Annual Fundraiser Gala, Spark – Igniting the Power of Art, April 18, 2009.
